What a show! The 2016 Billboard Music Awards just wrapped at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena and boy did it not disappoint. Big winners of the night included the amazing Canadian artist, The Weeknd and U.K. extravaganza Adele. Keep reading for the best moments of the show, including the winners and performances, but before we get to those show-stopping moments, let’s begin with the Red Carpet. Most stars played it safe on the Magenta Carpet this year. I’m assuming comfort was key because it terms of temperature, it was a burning H.O.T. 80 degrees. It seemed like only some stars got the mercury memo however and dressed to keep themselves cool in temperature and cool in style. Here are my top 5.
It seems as though Zendaya always makes my best dressed list on the red (magenta) carpet, and there’s a reason for that – she knows how to stand out whilst still keeping to her own unique style. Opting for a figure-hugging nude two-piece with a long train, her undeniable abs just shone right through. Complimenting her look with her signature bold brows and sleek straight hair, she took to Instagram later to share her little secret for her glossy mane – @chihaircareArgan Oil. Sign me up!
- Britney Spears:
Sharing pictures on Instagram lately of her toned body, Britney showed off her hard work in this black lacy bodysuit with an accompanying train. Pairing her outfit with thigh high fish-net like opened toed boots, it was the perfect addition to her already killer ensemble.
- Ariana Grande:
Another show stopper, this little pocket-rocket (and my spirit animal) kept her signature pony-tail but went for a stand-out blue and black thigh-high split dress. If you see similarities to the Kendall JennerAtelier VersaceMet Gala dress we saw a few weeks ago, it's because it turns out that this masterpiece was another one of his works of art - a winner. A different look from the Old Hollywood Glam ensemble we’re used to seeing the mini Grande showcase.
Another one of those women who can do no wrong. First-time co-host of the BBMAs, the newly engaged Ciara made sure all eyes were on her and that ring with her metallic silver majorly cut-out dress and massive stone. Legs and side boobs were out but no-nip slips took place (that we’re aware off).
- Fifth Harmony:
I talk about girl power a lot, and Fifth Harmony are a true representation of that - #squadgoals. Black may have been their colour of choice, but slay was their weapon. All eyes were on the girls as they hit the magenta carpet all wearing different cuts, lengths and cut-outs of black showcasing their individual personalities.
Clearly, cut-outs and skin was the theme of the BBMA red carpet this year and all red carpets so far for 2016 as well. If you want to see the best moments from inside the awards ceremony including big winners and performances, check out part two of the 2016 BBMAs.
