The Best Moments of the Billboard Music Awards 2016 – Winners and Performances – Part 2

Red Carpet aside, the awards ceremony was on fire this year. In terms of exciting controversy (I’m talking about you Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj at the VMAs), there was none, but we were inundated with show-stopping performances from our favourite artists. Britney opened the show with a medley of her greatest hits. The star who now has residency in Vegas may have taken us back to the noughties, but it just reminded us that this pop-star still has it and is going nowhere anytime soon. Just a quick shout-out to her abs, I mentioned her new fitness regime in my BBMA red carpet Article (check it out if you haven’t already), but they were on show tonight, and there was no way anyone could call them photoshopped.

We also had Justin Bieber take centre stage for his chart toppers, Company and Sorry. Starting with Company, the Biebs was behind this sheer cloth looking thing so we couldn’t completely see him. But by the time he apologized and said Sorry to us, the cloth was gone, and we had the Biebs and his new short haired look back the way we like it.

Ariana Grande was another show stopper performing her album titled song, Dangerous Woman as well as her new single, Into You (I literally can’t get that one out of my head!) She was up there dancing and hitting all the right notes that only she can do and just owning the stage. Her new album which was just released on Friday, has already raced up the charts and I literally cannot get enough off it!

We also saw Pink do what she does best – sing whilst doing acrobatics for her new song, Just Like Fire for the movie, Alice Through the Looking Glass. Other amazing performances included Joe Jonas' new group, DNCE, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton sing their new love duet, super hot girl group, Fifth Harmony, as they work, work, worked from home, Rihanna who sang Love on the Brain and even Kesha and Celine Dion who each got standing ovations.

Meghan Trainor was unfortunately criticized online for her performance of No, because people felt she didn’t move enough! Seriously? If you ask me, she did fine considering her skin tight and restricting sequence dress and probably her fear of falling on stage after she fell on Jimmy Fallon last week and that wasn’t even live TV! The BBMAs are LIVE people! LIVE! But definitely watch the fall at 3:45- it's a good laugh!

The big winner of the night went to Abel Tesfaye A.K.A. The Weeknd after picking up 8 wins from 19 nominations! Adele was the female winner with 4 wins, but wasn’t at the event as she was on tour. But not to fear Swiftie fans, she may not have owned the night, but Tay won the award for Best Tour for her amazing 1989 worldwide production. Taylor wasn’t there either with reports saying she won’t leave her boyfriend, Adam Wiles A.K.A. Calvin Harrisside after his accident the other day. He canceled a few shows over the weekend, but is recovering well.

But all in all, the BBMAs was an incredible show with amazing performances, acrobatics (thanks Pink) and most importantly was a smooth sailing night all round.
