The 2015 VMA Awards - Performances
Sometimes these awards shows can just drag on and on. Although this years VMA's were quite exciting, you've got to love the performances. Let's look at the best performances. 1.Taylor Swift releases 'Wildest Dreams' music video
The long wait was finally over. The much anticipated video featuring the unbelievably smoking Scott Eastwood was released at the end of the pre-show telecast, with Swift doing the honours and releasing it herself. Set in the beautiful African jungle, it told a beautiful story of an on and off-screen love affair between two actors. Between the many steamy kisses it gave a new meaning to the number 1 song and if you couldn't love Taylor enough, all proceeds of the video will go to the African Parks Foundation of America.
2. Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift
Nicki opened the show with a medley of Trinni Dem Girls and The Night is Still Young. But to everyone's surprise, Taylor Swift came to join her for the Night is Still Young and they went into Bad Blood too! I guess the little "Bad Blood" twitter incident from last month is behind them. So good to see.
3. Demi Lovato and Iggy Azalea
So as the new confident Demi was owning the outdoor stage during her performance of 'Cool for the Summer' surprise guest Australian rapper Iggy Azalea appeared out of nowhere and started rapping! Just like the Nicki and Taylor surprise, it was AWESOME! I don't know how they stay cool for the summer because to me, it was damn hot.
4. Justin Bieber
You have to love the Biebs! The 21-year-old hasn't performed on the VMA's stage since 2010 so today was big deal for him. The reformed Justin gave a spectacular performance where he did a melody of his number one hit "Where are you Now?" and his 2-day-old track "What Do You Mean?" I have to say it. The guy is God. Between his slick dancing and his sexy voice he was doing acrobatics and at one stage was flying. Yes, FLYING! He pulled a P!nk! Bless his soul though, at the end of his set, the poor boy broke down into tears. Why? we don't know yet but we can only assume this is the beginning of the new Justin.
5. Tori Kelly
You have to have been living under a rock for the past few months not to have heard to amazing vocals of this youtube star. Tori Kelly has been posting videos of herself singing for years and has a massive following. Her voice is beyond incredible. Starting off with just her money-making voice and guitar, she was mesmerising. Debuting her new single "Should've Been Us", she amazed the crowd. Don't forget this girl, she's going far.
Those were my favourite performances (including Miley's finale of course). Others included;
- The Weekend -they're actually beyond incredible live
- Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and
- Pharell with Freedom!
