The One with Taylor Swift in Seattle
It's finally happened! After a very VERY long wait, I finally got to see Taylor Swift on her "1989 WORLD TOUR." Taylor performed in Seattle, Washington on Saturday night for a crowd of 60,000 people! After her amazing support acts from birthday boy Shawn Mendes and Australian artist, Vance Joy, Taylor wowed the tens of thousands of fans by delivering a show-stopping two-and-a-half hour performance set.
Between multiple costume changes from complete sequence body suits (side note...#legsfordays) to her signature crop top and mini skirt co-ordinates, the 25-year-old put on a show that can never be forgotten.
It's a well known trend that on this tour Taylor has surprised fans with special appearances from different artists most nights. i think MTV's prediction is spot on. This girl is on a quest to perform every major song of the summer on her tour. Taylor has spoken out in the past that although she's known for the country/pop scene, she is a fan of ALL sorts of music. She collaborated with rap legend Kendrick Lamar for her celebrity filled "Bad Blood" music video and on Saturday rapped with Fetty Wap, the genius behind the summer anthem, "Trap Queen". It was mind-blowing to say the least!
Now I'm not from Seattle so the next surprise she pulled out didn't have me crying and gasping for any possible bit of air like the lady next to me and the rest of the crowd, but Seattle Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson and his girlfriend, pop star Ciara also joined Swift on stage for a special performance of her hit "Style."
But besides Queen-T do you know what my favourite thing to see is? All the guys in the crowd who are willingly there! Of course there's the "chaperone dads" but the men come in swarms and are massive fans with an outfit to match! I even saw a little old man rocking out to "Bad Blood" whilst in his suspenders! Bless!
What a night of surprises it was. Between the 18 song setlist and the surprises it was such an incredible night. And in true Taylor style, she took the crowd on a very emotional rollercoatser between her songs and the deep inspirational introductions to them. Seriously if this music thing doesn't work out Taylor, motivational speaking is calling your name.
It started with a lovely "Welcome to New York" before together we ran "Out of the Woods". We lived out our "Wildest Dreams" as "New Romantics" before realising that there shouldn't have been a "Blank Space" because "All You Had to Do was Stay". She then taught us "How to Get the Girl" in "Style" of course before together we decided "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" because he was "Mean". Unfortunately it wasn't a "Love Story" so she taught us how get "Clean" after a situation filled with "Bad Blood" and most importantly; how to "Shake it Off."
THANK-YOU TAYLOR! I'm already counting down the days until you come to Sydney!!! #111daystogo
