The One With the 50th Annual ACM Awards - Part 1
The 50th annual ACM awards have just wrapped up in Dallas, Texas for the year. As a massive country music fan, the ACM's are one of my favourite award shows of the year!
We saw performances from Luke Bryan, Garth Brooks, Miranda Lambert to Australia's own Keith Urban to name a few.
It's public knowledge that I'm a massive Taylor Swift fan and these country award shows are often dominated by her! But with her recent switch to the musical pop genre, the awards were up for grabs. I find in the country music category in particular, it's a level playing field for most. Everyone's friends, everyone gets along and it's just a beautiful award show to watch as it lacks the jealously and extreme professional competitiveness that many of the other shows have.
Entertainer of the Year went to Luke Bryan, beating other nominees Florida Georgia Line, Garth Brooks, Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert. This was the second time the country superstar had won the award. He won it once in 2013 too! Not only did he take the crown from 2014 winner, country legend George Strait, but Luke also took home the award for 'Vocal Event of the Year' for his collaboration with Florida Georgia Line with "This is How We Roll."

Not only did the award ceremony reach a 50 year milestone, but according three-time co-hosts Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan it also set a Guinness World Record! With the Dallas Cowboys AT&T center fitting up to 80,000, the ACMs set a record for largest live audience for a TV awards show.
"That's right, tonight we are the most attended live awards show of all time," exclaimed Bryan.
"This is a great night in the history of this academy and the history of country music."
Well they do say that everything's bigger in Texas right?
